I’ve been quiet lately, but the reason for that is I have been very industrious, creating a large new body of work called Embellish.

In the past my work was concerned with the temporariness and imperfection of floral beauty.
Now the theme is the nature of beauty itself: the real, the fake and the embellished.
Does the act of embellishment beautify or does it ruin something?

These works are richer, darker and more complex, channeling the Dutch Masters with a touch of Ikebana.

Embellish will be shown at Smyth Galleries in Auckland from 9-30th of November 2017
