This exhibition is about the paradoxes and contradictions of pregnancy.

For many women, pregnance does represent feminity in its fullest and most majestic flowering. Women often do bloom in pregnancy: their skin glows, their hair shines and they seem to move serenely through the glibly-acknowledged trials of pregnancy.

Yet for every woman who relishes her pregnant body, there is another who struggles with the inherent biological and emotional transformations.

Pregnancy is full of beauty and hardships, and it is my aim to explore both aspects with my imagery. My work explores the effects that pregnancy can have on the body, and the sense of being in an altered reality.
